Local attractions around the Scenic RimIn the last few years the Scenic Rim has seen some wonderful changes to the area. Here are some of the attactions you will not want to miss.Wyaralong Dam has been built minutes away from the Boonah Valley Motel. Even closer is the Mount Joyce Escape Recreational Park which makes up part ot the catchment area. The park offers visitors everything from world class downhill mountain bike trails to shoreline horse trails, bush walks, trail runs and canoe trails. The Mount Joyce Escape Recreational Park is open from 6.00am to 6.00pm seven days per week. With the exception of the designated camping grounds, you are not permitted to access the park outside these times unless you have a permit to do so. On the left along the Boonah Beaudesert dam is Lilybrook 30 kms of horse and bushwalk trails, boasting stunning views of Mt Barney, Mt Lindsay and Flinders Rock. This area is also home to mountain biking and fabulous cross country trails suitable for all codes of riding. Over the road is Queensland Moto Park with 50km of Supercross, Freestyle Motocross, and Stadium Cross style tracks. Safe, fun and family friendly, a wonderful alternative to illegal riding - and free to enter!! Moogerah Dam is 15 minutes from Boonah Valley Motel, great for water skiing and all water facilities (BVM) has private covered carparking, and heaps of room for boats and jet skis.
